IBM is making a strategic push into digital assets with the launch of Digital Asset Haven, a comprehensive custody solution tailored for banks, governments, and corporations. The platform combines multi-chain support with enterprise-grade compliance tools, signaling Big Blue's renewed commitment to blockchain after earlier abandoned initiatives.

The SaaS version, slated for late 2025, will enable institutions to custody and settle transactions across 40+ blockchains. Paris-based Dfns brings wallet infrastructure expertise to the partnership, having already deployed over 15 million wallets for institutional clients. IBM's patent portfolio suggests DEEP technical preparation, though market viability remains the true test.

This move reflects growing institutional demand for regulated crypto infrastructure. The planned 2026 on-premises version indicates IBM anticipates stringent security requirements from regulated entities entering digital assets.
